What does it mean to be fully present? Full engagement and acceptance of the here and now. When you’re on the rock, you’re forced to be present. Mindful rock climbing will be the entry-point to your internal world. In our 1-on-1 guiding, we tailor the day to where you’re at emotionally and what you’re wanting to explore.

For example, let’s say you struggle with self worth. We’ll spend 15 minutes (or as long as we need) journaling or chatting about self worth at the start of the day of guided rock climbing. We’ll head to the crag. As you’re climbing, how do you respond when you fail? What is your internal dialogue? Are you placing your worth as a human being on the outcome of whether you can climb a rock? Or get good grades? Or get people to like you?

We’ll provide tools that will help you learn from “failure” with compassion and honesty. We’ll tailor the day of guided rock climbing to you and where you’re at in your emotional process. We’ll process as the day goes by and you’ll have some new coping skills for the future.

In this way, climbing becomes an experiential metaphor. Beyond just climbing, you’ll also spend 6-8 hours in a beautiful wilderness setting and get some solid exercise in.

Harness, shoes and helmet are available for rent. All other gear will be managed by the guide. Bring some warm layers (if appropriate), water, snacks, comfortable shoes and some stoke.
